Combining a punk attitude, folk instruments and four languages Efa Supertramp and Geigerzähler will tour England and Wales to rant, sing and play to anyone who will listen to them this spring. Having met in an anarchist squat bar in Berlin and bonded over the fact both of their mother-tongues were minority languages which they performed in (Efa sings in Welsh and English; Geigerzähler sings in Sorbian and German), the next thing that made sense for them to do was to organise a DIY tour of England and Wales. Both artists are activists, who are used to performing on the streets at demonstrations and squats, and now they’ll bring their anarchistic songs of rage into a venue near you!

ABOUT EFA SUPERTRAMP [FROM BETHESDA, BASED IN LONDON]
Efa Supertramp is a folk punk grrrl armed with just an acoustic guitar and a powerful voice. With her passionate attitude for performing and DIY culture, she’s been making a name for herself in the underground punk and folk scene with her truthful attitude to life and politics. Originally from North Wales, now based in London, Efa sings in both English and Welsh, her mother-tongue language. Her songs are angry but uplifting, she hates money, power, greed and inequality, but loves living life as free as she can. Drawing much of her inspiration from social justice issues, Efa has been regularly touring around the European continent since 2012, playing in squats, living rooms, protests, street corners, bars and festivals; supporting punk legends such as The Damned, Attila the Stockbroker, Viv Albertine and TV Smith. She also recently started an electronic punk band called Killdren, and appeared as guest vocalist for Grand Collapse, Clusterfuck and Cyrion in recent years.

ABOUT GEIGERZÄHLER [FROM BUDYŠIN, BASED IN BERLIN]
A long time ago, when there was still a strange large wall dividing Berlin, a child was born in the capital of prisons and the Sorbian minority; a small town called Budyšin (or Bautzen in German). This child was quickly thrown into the educational system of the German Democratic Republic [GDR]; he wanted, could, should, had to learn the violin. After the wall had fallen, he cut himself a mohawk , quit school and started an apprenticeship as squatter, which unfortunately was halted by the riot police. His violin was destroyed, but he quickly got a new one because he wanted to play punk and was to lazy too learn guitar. He played in bands with funny names like „Köterkacke“ (dogshit) in the late 90ties. When Köterkacke stopped playing, he was bored and started to play solo and unplugged with just his violin and his voice. He needed a new name and settled on Geigerzähler, which he has been performing as since 2003. He has mostly performed in punky and anarchist bars and clubs in German-speaking countries, but also in Warsaw, Tel Aviv, Ramallah and New York.

Taith o Loegr a Chymru 2019: Gwerin Pync Mewn Pedair Iaith!
Mae Efa Supertramp a Geigerzähler yn cyfuno eu hagwedd pync gydag offerynnau gwerin a rhyngddynt yn perfformio mewn pedair iaith. Ar y daith yma o gwmpas Cymru a Lloegr byddent yn rantio, canu a chwarae i unrhyw un ‘neith wrando ac sydd digon chwilfrydig i adael y tŷ‘r gwanwyn yma. Cyfarfu‘r ddau mewn sgwot anarchaidd ym Merlin a bondio dros y faith fod mamiaith y ddau ohonynt yn iaith leiafrifol (mae Efa yn canu yn Gymraeg a Saesneg, ac mae Geigerzähler yn canu yn Sorbian ac Almaeneg). Penderfynodd y ddau mai‘r peth nesaf oedd yn gwneud synnwyr oedd iddynt drefnu taith o gwmpas Cymru a Lloegr i chwarae eu cerddoriaeth i bobl yn ninasoedd Lloegr a phentrefi Cymru. Mae’r ddau artist yn weithredwyr gwleidyddol, sydd wedi hen arfer perfformio ar y stryd mewn protestiadau ac mewn sgwots, a nawr byddant yn dod â’u caneon anarchistaidd i leoliad yn eich ardal chi!

Mae Efa Supertramp yn ferch llawn angerdd sydd yn perfformio gyda’i gitâr acwstig a‘i llais pwerus. Mae hi wedi bod yn gwneud enw i’w hun yn y sîn pync DIY gyda‘i hagwedd anhysbys tuag at fywyd a gwleidyddiaeth. Yn wreiddiol o Ogledd Cymru, ond bellach yn byw yn Llundain, mae Efa yn canu yn Gymraeg ac yn Saesneg. Mae hi‘n casáu arian, pŵer, pobl farus ac anghydraddoldeb, ond mae hi’n caru byw bywyd ar ei thermau hi hyn. Mae llawer o‘i hysbrydoliaeth yn dod o faterion cymdeithasol a gwleidyddol, ac mae Efa wedi bod yn chwarae o gwmpas cyfandir Ewrop yn rheolaidd ers 2012, mewn sgwatiau, ystafelloedd byw, protestiadau, corneli strydoedd, mewn bars a gwyliau cerddorol; gan gefnogi pyncs fel The Damned, Attila the Stockbroker, Viv Albertine a TV Smith. Yn ddiweddar, mae hi hefyd wedi dechrau band pync electronig o‘r enw Killdren, ac mae hi wedi ymddangos fel gwestai yn canu ar gerddoriaeth Grand Collapse, Clusterfuck a Cyrion yn y blynyddoedd diwethaf.
MWY AM GEIGERZÄHLER [O BUDYŠIN, NAWR YN BYW YM MERLIN]
Amser maith yn ôl, pan oedd wal fawr ryfedd yn dal i rannu Berlin, cafodd plentyn ei eni ym mhrifddinas y carchardai a‘r lleiafrif Sorbian; tref fechan o‘r enw Budyšin (neu Bautzen yn Almaeneg). Cafodd y plentyn ei daflu‘n gyflym i system cyflawniad addysgol Deutsche Demokratische Republik [DDR] – ble bu‘n rhaid iddo ddysgu‘r ffidil. Ar ôl i‘r wal ddisgyn, fe dorrodd mohawk, rhoi‘r gorau i‘r ysgol a dechreuodd brentisiaeth fel sgwatiwr, ond yn anfoddus cafodd ei atal gan yr ‘riot police’. Fe ddinistriwyd ei ffidil, ond cafodd un newydd yn gyflym oherwydd roedd eisiau chwarae pync ac roedd yn rhy ddiog i ddysgu gitâr. Chwaraeodd mewn Bandiau gydag enwau doniol fel „Köterkacke“ (cachu ci) yn y 90au hwyr. Pan roddodd Köterkacke orau i chwarae, roedd ef wedi diflasu a dechreuodd chwarae‘n yn solo gyda ond ei ffidil a‘i lais. Roedd angen enw arno, ac fe benderfynodd ar Geigerzähler; yr enw mae wedi bod yn perfformio o danno ers 2003. Mae wedi perfformio‘n bennaf mewn bariau a chlybiau pync ac anarchaidd mewn gwledydd sy‘n siarad Almaeneg, ond hefyd yn Warsaw, Tel Aviv, Ramallah ac Efrog Newydd.
